QR Code Generator

Type what the code should contain, adjust size and colours, download. The code encodes your data directly, so it works forever and tracks nobody.

Static codes, not a subscription trap

Many QR generators give you a short link that points at their server, which then redirects to your target. That is convenient until the company changes its pricing, goes out of business or starts counting scans. Your printed poster stops working.

The codes here are static: your link, your Wi-Fi password, your contact data is encoded in the pattern itself. Nothing points at this site. The code cannot expire, cannot be turned off, and nobody can see who scanned it.

The trade-off is honest: you cannot change the destination later and you get no scan statistics. For a poster, a menu, a business card or a Wi-Fi sticker, that is the right deal.

Error correction, and why it matters

The level decides how much of the code can be damaged while still being readable.

LevelRecoverableUse for
L7 %clean digital display
M15 %the default, printed material
Q25 %stickers, packaging
H30 %dirty environments, or a logo in the middle

Higher levels make the pattern denser, so the code needs to be printed larger.

Practical print sizes

A rough rule: the code should be at least one tenth of the scanning distance. A code scanned from 50 centimetres needs about 5 centimetres of side length; from 3 metres, 30 centimetres. Always keep the light margin around the code, it is part of the format.

For print, download the SVG. It stays sharp at any size, which a PNG does not.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The data is encoded in the pattern itself, not stored on a server. The code will still work in ten years.

Can you see who scans my code?

No. There is no redirect and no tracking. The code does not reference this site at all.

What is the Wi-Fi code for?

It encodes network name, password and encryption type. A guest scans it with the camera and joins the network without typing the password.

PNG or SVG?

PNG for screens and quick sharing. SVG for anything printed, because it stays sharp at any size.

Why does my code not scan?

Usually too small, too little contrast, or a missing light margin. Keep dark on light, never invert, and raise the error correction level for stickers.
